Alyce was born December 1, 1928, in Dropmore, Manitoba. She was schooled in Dropmore and Roblin, Manitoba. After working a few different jobs she made the decision to move to Brandon where she began a long career at Safeway, eventually becoming head checker until her retirement. Alyce loved her job.

After Dad passed away, Mom went on bus tours to Alaska and Branson, Missouri. At this time, she also became active in the Legion, Ladies Shuffleboard and working at the meat draws.
