Alyce will be lovingly remembered by her children Kent (Karen) Johnston, Kandy Jacobson, Amy (Geordie) Randall and Brenda Johnston (Ray). Alyce was born December 1, 1928, in Dropmore, Manitoba. She was schooled in Dropmore and Roblin, Manitoba. After working a few different jobs she made the decision to move to Brandon where she began a long career at Safeway, eventually becoming head checker until her retirement. Alyce loved her job.

Shortly after arriving in Brandon, Alyce was invited to a Brandon Club picnic where she met the love of her life, Jim (JB) Johnston. They were married May 10, 1958. Boy did her life change quickly as she became stepmother to twins Kent and Kandy. She was an amazing mom. While she did not raise Amy and Brenda, she called them her daughters as well.

Mom and Dad loved to travel and made many trips from coast to coast in Canada and the U.S. as well as making journeys to Europe, Hawaii and Mexico. After Dad passed away, Mom went on bus tours to Alaska and Branson, Missouri. At this time, she also became active in the Legion, Ladies Shuffleboard and working at the meat draws.

Alyce moved from her long time East End home to Hobbs Manor. Eventually she was lovingly cared for by the staff of Rideau Personal Care Home.
