Obituary of Murray Walowetz

It is with deep sadness the family must announce the passing of Murray Walowetz on July 4, 2024 at the age of 80 while in residence at Fairview Personal Care Home in Brandon.

Murray was born in Russell, MB to Bill and Jean Walowetz on July 23, 1943 and spent most of his early working life in Manitoba when he started his long career with Scotiabank that spanned 40 years. During his early working days with the bank, he worked in several smaller communities and was an active member of both Elks and Lions charitable clubs. He retired from the bank in 2002 and chose to reside in Brandon which was a location near to his roots and family. After retirement, Murray kept busy with part-time work at Home Depot along with his passion for gardening and spending time with his granddaughter and nearby family when not working.

 Murray is survived by sons Kevin and Trevor (Terri-Lynn) and granddaughter Neesa. He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Muriel, parents and grandson William.

At this time, a service is not planned.  The family wishes to have a private celebration of Murray’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Murray may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
