We met Sean, after he came to Brandon to care for Ray, his dad.
It began with us dropping by with some home made soup or dainties or buns.
Each and every visit, was followed by a thank you call from Sean .
He noticed that I used a recycled plastic container for the soup and now I have enough Becel margarine tubs for everyone here
He noticed that the dainties were in a take out container from a restaurant and now we have a stack of those as well.
He noticed what restaurants we frequented and stacks of coupons began to show up in our mailbox.
When the apple trees in the back yard were loaded, Sean called…over we went and then made apple crisp and pies
During co vid, the phone calls began and Sean always had a list of items on his agenda
health issues
grocery shopping bargains and he would remind us that if we were ever short of peanut butter or toilet paper, he would share
breakdowns with the lawn mower, the garage door etc
But gradually the most time was spent with Andre and Sean talking about books
Andre got Sean using the Library and they read and discussed every book written about Wyatt Earp,, Doc Holliday, Shoot out at the OK Corral, the Clantons.
Then Andre started him reading the Author CJ Box and Sean read every book in the Joe Pickett series. More long discussions
He was an avid reader, and soon bought himself an e reader .
We will miss the phone calls from Sean,…even the ones before we would go out for a supper together, reminding us to look at the menu on line at home so we would not take time at the restaurant.
He and Ray ate early….Andre and I ate late so there was compromising needed.
Sean added a new flavour to our life. His dedication to his father was a topic of many of our conversations.
That won’t change..the memories will remain and things like apple crisps, a new Joe Pickett novel, an old western movie, will make us think about him again and again.

Sean and I were pretty good friends back at Glen Lawn Collegiate. I always appreciated his sense of humour. He was the type who never fell into a "clique" group and I admired that he made friends with all sorts of people who crossed his path. We lost touch after high school as is often the case as lives move in different directions.
My condolences to all of his family.

I don't remember a time when Sean wasn't my cousin. He, my brother Troy and I would spend one or two weeks together in Brandon with my grandparents every summer. As I usually didn't want to play what the boys were playing Sean very considerate of me and not wanting to leave me out would divide himself between Troy and I. Always checking on me if I was OK with the division and when it would be my turn. "OK Tif?" He would ask me. As we grew up Sean always delighted himself in sharing new words he would learn on his Navy adventures. Educating us on the new words and how to use them correctly. As the years ticked by it was us educating him on why you couldn't use those words anymore. I will miss you Sean.

The last conversation Sean and I had on the phone, he told me he had taken his dad to the Dermatologist and the dentist. He was full of details of what went on and how he handled it. I told Sean there wasn’t anyone that could have looked after Ray any better than he did. I am glad I told him. Kit and Don

Beyond his exemplary service and commitment to family, Sean was known for his willful playfulness and infectious spirit. He brought joy to the lives of those around him, often lightening the mood with a well-timed joke or a playful prank. His laughter resonated in the halls of his ship, reminding everyone that even amidst the rigors of military life, camaraderie and joy were paramount. You are missed, my friend.

Sean lived a life of service, duty, and selflessness and he will be missed.
I appreciated his dry sense of humour and wry smile. I cannot think of anyone else who would have dropped everything to take care of his father for these many years.
May joy and peace surround you Sean.

Sean always enjoyed eating on time, obviously from his upbringing and time in the Navy.
On his first visit to our cabins once 5:30 -6 pm came around you could see that Sean was out of sorts. A little bit of pacing and circling of my mom’s chair on the deck and his stomach got the best of him and he asked “. Betty will supper be any time soon”
He didn’t realize that meals at the cabin had no schedule. In visits following he would always bring his own stash of goodies to hold him over till meal time.
Over the years we all had a good laugh over this.

I met Sean when he was posted to the HMCS Yukon in 1992 and remained friends with him for the next few decades. I'm sorry to hear that he passed away so suddenly. RIP.
