I, Adele Robins, had an office across the hall from Deb for many years in Dialysis. It was great knowing that she was there. An ear to listen, words of encouragement, a cup of coffee and a contagious smile when times got tough. Or just to share a great laugh... What a wonderful person. I am thinking of the family at this difficult time.

My sister Arlene & I met Deb when we took our Dad, John, to the kidney clinic at the hospital. She always welcomed us with that big warm smile of hers. She made everybody feel at home with her kindness. She used to joke with our Dad which would make him laugh. She was quite the girl. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. RIP Deb.

My condolences, I was so sad to hear of her passing. I have fond memories of working alongside Debbie during my internship, and spending time with her lovely family in Brandon. She welcomed me with open arms. I’ll never forget the kindness she showed those around her, which was evident in both her work and family life. Praying for you all during this difficult time.

My husband and I both worked with Deb back in the 90’s on 400 West at BGH. She was such a kind and genuine person who was so kind and so wonderful to work with. I had the pleasure to be in contact with her again through our prospective Renal Health Units and was amazed how she had not at all changed in over 30 years and was still this bubbly, funny, warm and wonderful person that I remembered from many years ago. We are so very sorry to hear of her passing and send our deepest sympathies to her family.

While those of us who knew her from afar are stunned by her passing, I can’t begin to imagine the pain her family is feeling. May memories and her love surround you all as you navigate this life without her! Lia Plante

Al, Sam & Kayla - my shock and grief pales in comparison to what you must be feeling. I hope that with the passing of time the joyful energy Deb always exuded will return to your lives, knowing that she will continue to watch over you. I am forever grateful for the experience of our friendship which started with Deb as my preceptor in the Dialysis Unit. This friendship continued even as our career paths separated. Such a remarkably wise, funny and compassionate "younger than me" mentor! She exemplified genuine caring for all, a benefit to our patients and staff alike. Hold the good memories close now.
Al, Brent also holds you and Deb's family in his thoughts. We had the privilege of meeting Deb's sister last summer at Clear Lake. We send our thoughts and prayers to Deb's extended family as well.

Dear Al, Sam, Kayla: condolences at this very heartbreaking time. I had a past working relationship and friendship with Deb, from our days in the Dialysis Unit. Deb's personality was likened to enjoying a warm cup of coffee for me...and she did like coffee. :) Acknowledging this loss, by all who knew Deb, is our way of sharing and caring with her family. So many things in life we do not understand, but may compassion from others, also give you strength as you remember her life, her laughter, her love, and her legacy.

Al, Sam Kayla and the Rocan families our condolences in the loss of this beautiful and passionate wife,Mom, sister and friend. Debbie was a treasured friend who shared so much of herself with so many and brightened lives with her beautiful smile and her laugh. She will be forever missed but never forgotten for all that she has done in such a short life time. She was a true professional who gave her best for her patients, who cherished her. Although we worked together for many years she was more like a sister to me. I share in your grief and loss. Hard to believe that there can be comfort in knowing that her pain and suffering is no more. Rest easy my friend and hold a spot on the dance floor for us. Clear Lake walks will never be the same but we will continue them in your memory.
“When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart” Kathy, Todd

As family, you know hiw special Deb was to you. As a work friend, I want you to know how special she was to me. She was a warm comfort when my sister was started on dialysis. She was a welcome chat when I would run into her out walking. She was a welcome distraction with her laugh when stopping for a moment at work to catch up and laugh about something only a nurse would find funny. I cannot take your pain away but I can tell you I am saddened by this loss and wish you warmth and comfort in this difficult time.

Al, Sami & Kayla....and to all family & friends who loved Deb & are hurting right now....there are no adequate words to express how sorry we are for your loss. Deb was a phenomenal person & a one of the best nurses I have ever had the privilege & joy to work with. Every time we would have a "catch up" whether it was in the hallways of BRHC, at Tim's or meeting up on the Clear Lake bike paths she was always the same happy gal, interested in what was going on in your life, we would talk about our kids and where they were at, reminisce about our old 400 days
(which were the absolute best) & always inevitably get a laugh in, her laugh was unmistakable:O) and I will forever remember her as the sweet but "just a tad" mischievous girl that she was. Keep your precious memories close, talk with each other. laugh with each other, cry when you need to, reach out to those who share your grief...all these things will carry you through the roughest parts, and one day in the future when you find yourself able to smile more than cry when you think about her.....try not to feel guilt because that would be where she would want us all to get to eventually, remembering her with all the love & joy she brought to your lives while she was here on earth. Rest in peace Deb, you are certainly one of God's special angels now.

Dear Al Sam and Kayla.
So sorry to hear!
I knew Deb as a dear friend and treasured colleague for over 30 years. We first met when she was a nurse at BGH then she moved to Dialysis and eventually became our Renal Clinic Coordinator. Deb was the all-seeing and all-knowing presence who brought together the resources of our Dietitians Social Workers Pharmacists and Front Office staff along with the daunting task of organizing the Nephrologists ( especially myself! )
She was always empathetic, up-to-date and a smiling beacon of light. She kept appointments ( and personalities ) in order.
We’ll never forget the coffees, the music quizzes and updates on hospital “ information “.
To Al and family our sincere condolences.
Deb, you will be sorely missed and forever fondly remembered. Rest in peace
Love Barry and Janet Riche
