George Henry Demyen

May 2, 1935 – January 8, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of George Henry Demyen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. George passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the age of 89.

George leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret. He was a devoted father to his four daughters, Carol (Harry), Susan (Bob), Dianne (Marc) and Joanne (Andrew); grandchildren, Britanni (Eric), Mathew (Cameron), Bobby (Jill), Tanea (Tom), Christopher, Jayla and Rachel; great grandchildren Jayden, Jemma and Davie; sister Peggy Zavislak as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

George predeceased by his mother, Mary Bellrose Demyen, brothers, Bill and John as well as grandson Christopher.

George was born in Kisby, Saskatchewan.  He worked for many years at Bradley Sand & Gravel, starting as a young man at the age of 18, and though he was supposed to retire at 65, his dedication to his work kept him going for several more years. Alongside his career, George was also a farmer. He lived on a farm SE of Brandon since 1972, the farm being his pride and joy, attending to his cattle and horses on his beloved farm. His passion for hard work and love for the land was evident throughout his life.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering love for his family.

A celebration of George’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
