I missed our dear Ruth this Christmas - I knew I would. She was a dear family friend and joined us in Calgary for more Christmas holidays than I can remember.
She was joyful, kind and always so interested in our lives and accomplishments. She was a loyal and devoted friend to my aunt Edith and my mother, Margery. We were fortunate to share many wonderful adventures with Ruth over the years and I thought of her often over these holidays.
A place in my heart will always be reserved for you Ruth. Nancy Miller

I was saddened to learn of Ruth's passing. My husband Ian passed on just 2 days before Ruth & we were neighbors on McDiarmid Drive in Brandon for 35 years. We enjoyed many coffees together. After moving from Manitoba to the Alberta Foothills in 2007 to be closer to our family, Ian & I subsribed to Brandon Sun Online; thus, reading of Ruth's passing. My thoughts & prayers are with her family ~~~
In Sympathy,
Sharon (Stott) Bobiak

Will miss having lunch with you Ruth on my return visits to Brandon, at some little out of the way tea room in the country that you always managed to find. Rest in Peace.

You will always be one of the Girl Power Society - I wear my pendant with pride knowing that you shared one the same. You always believed in your little Michael Anthony and I will always treasure your encouraging words and thoughts every time we spoke of him. My life is richer for knowing you and rest assured that Mike and I will keep your memory alive forever for your great grandson. Love, Melanie xoxo

Farewell from Nova Scotia!
Ruth told us several times, had she been a bit younger, this Province by the sea is where she would have loved to live. That was Ruth's way of validating and affirming that our choice to move here was a good one. That was what Ruth was like….she told you when she approved, gently guided when she was herself considering and spoke with candid honesty when she thought different. Throughout, she was steadfastly loyal and loving as a friend. We cherish our times with her.

Goodbye to a lovely lady. I remember when I came over on a visit and you took me to where your family were buried. You said that at least I would know where you were!! Happy memories too of the last time Sue and I were over. The chats and the laughter. The visit to the theatre to see Oklahoma and tea on the terrace overlooking the ocean. God Bless. xxx
