To our Stobbe family; John, Deb and our children and grandchildren send you our most sincere condolences. We lost Clara 2 years ago May, then last May we lost Deb's Dad and then a few weeks ago her mom.
It's never easy losing a parent, even when you think you are prepared for the inevitable it hits hard. Find comfort and joy in you memories of times past. Our hearts are with you.

To the Stobbe family:
Sincere sympathy in the passing of your dad. I remember his cheery comments!
My family was blessed to meet your parents when they moved to Brandon from Morden in 1982. They attended the same church and Mary did respite care for Duane, Cheryl, and Myrna. In recent years their friendship continued when your parents and my mom lived at Fairview Home. Mom appreciated the visits, and always told me when Elaine would share time with her.
Sincerely,
Joanne Heppner

I met Peter and Mary in 1989 in Morden. My first memory is Dave and Peter holding forth on the history of the Winnebago and its journeys across Canada. Over the last twenty-five years I enjoyed Peter and Mary's generoous hospitality in Brandon, whenever the Three Guys and Forty-four strings played there for the seniors.I also recall Peter's expertise as an administrator with the Canada Pension Plan. Sociologists use as a criterion for good parenting the kind of home friends like to come to after school. The Stobbes certainly fit that bill. Eternal peace to a gentleman who pursued peace all his life.

To the Stobbe clan and in particular my high school buddy Gord - so sad to hear of your loss. I know we haven't seen each other for awhile, Gord, but I do remember the many good times we shared and the warmth and feeling welcome in the Stobbe home on Second St. in Brandon. I'll always remember "Potato-Gap Pete" and your mother Mary always welcoming me into your home, being fed, hearing David strum away a Gordon Lightfoot tune on guitar. Peter and Mary truly built a home around love, respect and the caring of others. Those qualities were not lost on me. I remember fishing at Lake Audy. Peter, Gord and I. Peter and Gord would take me golfing to a course outside of Brandon, I can't remember the name now, but it had sand greens and the Stobbes, I believe, had memberships there. Gord, I didn't know your mom had passed away. My regrets. My mom passed away ten years ago now, dad is 97 and here in Winnipeg. The physical attachments to Brandon are gone, but my memories of growing up down the block from the Stobbes is still fresh in my mind. Take care my friend, and please pass on regrets to your family.
