Obituary of Melvin Robinson

ROBINSON: With much sadness, the family announces the passing of Melvin Robinson, beloved husband of Margaret, on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Assiniboine Centre, Brandon. Mel was born at Napinka, MB on September 13, 1923 and farmed north of Melita prior to moving to Brandon. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret of Brandon, one sister Ruby Wilcox of Comox, BC and one nephew Jim Wilcox of Comox, and two great nephews, Brian (Chloe) of Comox and Allen (Tanis) of Kenora, ON, and great niece Carol Anne Wilcox of Winnipeg. Also surviving are cousins Ken (Joyce) Gordon, Brandon and Marvin Gordon and wife of Winnipeg. Mel was a Life Member of the Manitoba Agricultural Museum at Austin where he entered his steam engine and tractor which he constructed along with other machinery which he excelled at for many years. He and Margaret were long time members of the Brandon Circle Eights Square Dance Club and attended a great many Jamborees across the country. Mel would always help anyone in need and was a very friendly, kind man. He will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Kim Lewarne, Funeral Celebrant, officiating.
