Rhonda, Brad, Taylor, Betty and all family,
It is not easy to come up with the words to explain how sorry we are for your loss. We loved Craig too and we miss him very much. When I look at the photo you have posted I can feel the enthusiasm oozing out of him.
What a fond memory I have of him that night at Christmas time when he sang "Salt Water Joys" with my help on the guitar. Gone but never forgotten.

Twenty Five years ago sitting in the church watching and listening to you and Craig share your Wedding vows was a beautiful moment. I actually got emotional seeing you both there, you were a perfect match and you can believe that if your Dad didn't think so, it wouldn't be happening. It is with a heavy heart that Rick and I mourn the loss of your wonderful husband and father. We have known you two for 16 years and will cherish every moment we spent with you together. Dear Betty & family,
I am truly heartbroken and saddened by Craig's death. Craig was more than just an old friend to me; he was an amazing and wonderful person. He was always so kind and considerate to me. Those are the things I will remember most about him.
Though distance and years were between us, I never forgot about Craig.
I have so many wonderful memories of us partying till daylight, camping at Butter Park Provincial Park, playing pool at the "Old Fort, bon fires at Topsail Beach, the list just goes on. I was so blessed to have known him and to have spent some of my best years growing up with him.
His passing will not only leave a void in our lives, but in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Craig's memory will always remain deep within my heart.

I remember when Craig first learned how to drive, we were in his mother's car in Paradise and he turned his head to clear some clutter on the seat. As he turned his head, he turned the steering wheel as well putting us in the ditch. The second he stopped the car and knew I was ok, he was frantically scrambling along the side of the road to make sure he hadn't hurt anyone; that was his only concern. Craig always looked out for everyone back then and was the most unselfish and loving person I had ever known. Reading all the messages of Craig over the coming years, I see that he continued to be an inspiration to so many and touched their lives in much the same way he touched and changed my life. He was loved and adored by many and will never, ever be forgotten. My heart aches for his family and friends in NL and Manitoba and I pray God guides us all in grieving his absence and in celebrating his life.

I will always be grateful to Craig for all the times he took Brad and our son Lee to the Wheatkings games as little boys There he taught them their numbers by the jerseys the players wore. Always the first to help and with that "gotcha" grin who could resist a face that happy. All of us "Trauts" have a little piece of our hearts missing now. Hold them and take care of them and you can give them back when we see you again and it will only seem like a moment has passed since you've been gone ...

Nothing specific... But the Craig I knew would light up the room whenever he entered it. Such a charming smile that could turn anybody's bad day into a good one. He was an amazing soul.
