I have never been particularly good at keeping in touch with my relatives, with the exception of my favourite, Aunt Barb. From a young age, Barb was always a bit of a role model for me. In a time when the norm for women was to marry and start a family, Barb was very much a modern woman for her time. She had a career and she travelled the world. That always sounded like a great life to me! Barb and I shared many travel tales throughout the years. In fact, she encouraged me to take my first big trip to Europe in 1980. I am happy to say that the travel bug she was partially responsible for installing in me, has stayed with me to this day.
Barb would often included a stop in Toronto as part of her travel plans. Marty & I thoroughly enjoyed these visits and cherish the memories of road trips to Niagara Falls, tours of the city and backyard BBQs. Fiercely proud of her Scottage heritage, Barb could always be counted on to enjoy a "wee dram" of Marty's finest Scotch whiskey at the end of a busy day of touring.
A few years ago, Marty & I visited Aunt Barb in Brandon. Regrettably this was to be our last visit. I am so greatful for the time we shared with her in her home town. Although it was difficult for her to get around, I think she enjoyed playing tour guide in her city and we were happy to play tourists in Brandon in February...it was cold!
I will cherish my memories and I know Barb will be missed by so many people. RIP my favourite Aunt Barb xo

I have never been particularly good at keeping in touch with my relatives, but I always enjoyed my conversations with Aunt Barb. She was a such a wonderful person, with a great sense of humour, a kind, caring heart and an adventurous spirit. We traded many a travel tale over the years as we both shared the love of travel.
On several occasions Barb would include a stop in Toronto during her travels. She was always a welcome visitor to our home. Fiercely proud of her Scottish heritage, Barb was known to enjoy a "wee dram" of Marty's finest Scotch whiskey whenever the offer was made.
Marty & I visited Barb in Brandon a few years ago. Regrettably this was to be our last visit. I will always be grateful for that visit.
Barbara will be missed by so many people who, like Marty & I, were privileged to have known her. Our thoughts are with everyone who will miss her so much.
Rest in peace my favourite Aunt. We will cherish our memories. Xo

I had the pleasure of visiting Barb for a few years twice a week in her home or out. There was never a visit when I didnt learn something from her! Jenna would greet me on arrival and I sincerely looked forward to those visits until my retirement. I heard many stories of her family and know you were so good to Barb. She loved you all.
Condolences and Blessings to you.
Sincerely

Several years ago when I was convalescing from surgery, Barbara arrived at my home with a container of soup. The sincerity of her gesture has stayed with me all these years. My deepest condolences. Sharron Reed, Sicamous, B.C.
