This is probably weird, commenting here three years later, but I just saw this obituary and I want to share a few memories of Craig.
Craig and I met in university. We hung out together in the cafeteria between classes and at lunch, often having deep discussions about all kinds of things we were learning. We got to be friends. He was so smart and funny and kind. I once told him about my love of chewing Juicy Fruit gum and fruit flavoured Lifesavers together, and the day he came with a package of each and set them down in front of me…well, I think I fell a little in love with him right then. I remember the night at a university social we both confessed to one of my best friends that we felt more than friendship for each other, and she helped us figure things out. We started going out that night. I remember the crazy night we went night skiing at Glenorki…partying at Clear Lake on the May long weekend…we had so much fun together.
We were graduating that year. Craig was class president. I remember the night of our convocation dinner, sitting at the head table as his date, with all the university bigwigs, listening to him make his amazing speech. I was so proud to be with him.
Craig got a job as a management trainee in Winnipeg after graduation. I was sure his future was bright. I was going away to Ontario to university in the fall. Things ended between us and I was super sad. I saw him about a year later when I ended up in Winnipeg also, when we had lunch and caught up. I didn't see him again.
I don't know if anyone will see this, but I wanted to share my memories of Craig—intelligent, humorous, thoughtful. I cared about him a lot.

Thinking of you all, Dwight, Lynne and Mona on this sad day! My favorite memory of Craig is a beautiful picture we have of him standing in a crib with my sister Claire! My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I remember that little boy that was always ready to join in for adventure. Whether it was climbing trees, catching frogs or whatever was happening.
My love and thoughts are with you.
