Dear Janis, I read with dismay about Alf's untimely passing. It is so hard to cope with losing a loved one who obviously was a true gentleman, held in high esteem by all who had the privilege of being in his presence. Please know that I recall with great pleasure working with you and offer my sincere condolences as you move forward. I trust that precious memories will support you in peace. Please convey my sympathies to the rest of Alf's family.
Most sincerely, Pat Bowslaugh

To Janis and the entire Stanley family.
Working with Alf at Century 21 was a pleasure. He had a way about him that reflected his professionalism and kindness. Although sometimes short, I enjoyed our visits at Clear Lake. Alf was always "on the go".
Please take some comfort in knowing that he did not lose his courageous battle, rather, he won it the only way he could-by escaping its grasp and forever leaving it behind.
Walk on Alf! We'll catch up again someday.
Thinking of you at this difficult time.

I was so sorry to hear of Alfred's passing. He just sent me an email a few days ago and I was expecting to hear back from him. His father William, Bill or Willie was one of my father's younger brothers. Alfred and I just got to know each other later in life. He said it was sad that we Stanley cousins had not met sooner. He made it a point to travel to meet many of these cousins and take pictures with them. He was also my genealogy buddy as we traced the Stanley family from England, to the USA and Canada. He worked with me to place headstones on gravesites for our bachelor uncle Nelson Stanley and also for our maternal great grandparents Noah and Izora Cameron. We made up for lost time and emailed back and forth at least once a week. I will miss him so much and I will remember him always.
My condolences to his wife Janis, his children, brothers and sister and all his extended family. I feel that I know many of you although we never met because he sent me photos of everyone. He was so proud of his family. He is free of pain now and In eternal rest.

To Janis from Bonnie Sprott......I will always remember meeting you and Alf when I joined the gym at Onanole. You were both so welcoming and dedicated to making the gym a success. I have tried to continue what you both taught me but I'm afraid that I will never have the patience that Alf had. You are both beautiful people. Sharing your sadness, Janice, -B-

Janis, so sorry to hear about Alf's passing. I send my deepest and most sincere condolences to you and all the Stanley family.
I met Alf and Janis through the Wilderness Club back when we hiked the longest of trail with good knees and hips, and energy to spare. Those were the best days ever! Alf was such a kind and sincere soul. He had that funny little grin that brought out a smile every time. I will be forever grateful to Alf for finding me my little piece of heaven on earth... my cabin. I can't say how many times I've given thanks for such a dear friendship. So many wonderful memories of Alf and Janis as my neighbors "in the forest". I am honored to say he was a friend. Rest in peace, Alf. You will be missed.

Janis and the whole Stanley family, please accept our condolences on your loss of "Alf".
We go back a day or two, first meeting Alf back in the late 70's when he took employment at the Keystone Center, a great leader in his field, a few get togethers in the old log house there, then when he became a sales associate at Century-21, a proud salesman and a great contributor to the company. Now not to forget the many visits on Barclay Drive when during his walk he would step in with that mischievous grin and say "how you 2 doing"
A man that we would proudly say "A great friend" Rest in peace Alf.
