Obituary of Annette Waller

WALLER: Annette Theresa Hilda Waller (née de Montigny) passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 unexpectedly at the age of 67 years. Nan was born on January 19, 1951 in St. Boniface, MB to Henry and Iris de Montigny. Nan was the third child of six. The de Montigny family lived at 555 Cote Street in St. Boniface, MB during Nan's childhood years and the family moved to St. Anne in 1969. Nan was an extraordinary softball player. Nan's love for the Waller farm was so great that she chose to move to Lenore, MB. It was there that she lived the majority of her life with her soul mate and best friend Bud Waller. They were married on December 9, 1978. Nan and her dog Gypsy moved to Rivers, MB in 2015 where she made many new friends and connected with old friends through dog walking, fishing, camping and visiting. Over the years, Nan was a selfless caregiver in her home caring for her mother-in-law, husband, father and mother. In addition, Nan cared for countless friends in need. Nan was also an active Lenore community member, she was a longstanding member of the Lenore Cemetery Board and supported charities whenever asked. Nan passionately enjoyed fishing, camping, animals, farming, hunting, photography, woodworking, watching wildlife, baking for others, and feeding birds. Nan was preceded in death by her husband Gregory (Bud) Waller, her parents Iris and Henry de Montigny and siblings Yvonne Knight, Marcel de Montigny and Eugene de Montigny. Nan is survived by her sister Aline (Brian Johnston) de Montigny, brother Henry (Caitlin) de Montigny; numerous nieces and nephews, her stepchildren Patrick (Beverly) and Janice Waller, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Nan is also survived by numerous cousins and friends she considered family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central United Church "Christmas Cheer Fund", 327 8th St., Brandon, MB, R7A 3X5 or the Brandon Humane Society, 2200-17th Street East, Brandon, MB, R7A 7M6. A Celebration of Nan's Life will be held at Central United Church, 327 8th Street, Brandon, MB on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
