I first met Frank as a young news reporter covering the Brandon School Division and quickly learned to appreciate his sense of humour and level of common sense that he and fellow board member Robert MacPherson brought to the various discussions and decisions that came before them. Perhaps it was my own rural roots and upbringing that I recognized in them and in their approach to problem solving. Common sense isn’t nearly as common as it once was, but it was not lacking with Frank at the board table. I recall following one election that saw a one-issue candidate join the board of trustees. Frank made certain this rookie board member was made part of several sub-committees, Frank later confided in me that "now this person’s education would really begin!" It was a time when people like Frank knew the value of having board meetings covered by local media. I appreciated the fact that I had his respect and he certainly had mine! The times we ran into each other years later were always welcomed and enjoyable. I am fortunate to have known him and I now extend my condolences to his immediate and extended family. Barry,Lori,Greg and families. We were so saddened to hear of Frank’s passing! When my parents bought their cabin across the road from Frank and Betty they became fast friends! Spent many weekends having coffe playing card and going out for ice-cream! After my Mom and Betty passed my Dad and Frank kept in touch by phone calls on a weekly basis! We all enjoyed our visits with them both! May you RIP Frank you will be missed! Our deepest sympathies to you all, Ken Davidson Lori and Brett Thomson Darcy and Todd Witherspoon
