I only knew Scotty as the conductor of the fine dance band that supplied the music for so many of the Common Wealth Air Training Plan Museum. Thanks to him we were able to raise funds for the museum. He was a fine gentleman and will surely be missed by Sharon, family and friends.

Sharon
The city of Brandon and area was so very fortunate to have Scotty as he did so much for the community in general and especially for music. I thoroughly enjoyed the six years playing in your big band that was made special by Scotty's great attitude, enthusiasm and respect for all of the many musicians who played with him. I know I grew greatly as a member as he was a fine teacher and very patient with myself.
Sincerely
Dave Scott

I first met Scotty when my sister and I joined the Rivers & District Pipe Band in 1978. He was so kind and open to each and every member. But he was strict and expected tight formations and best behavior whenever we performed in parades or at events. When he barked BAND ATTENTION! Be ready! He and Sharon were the glue that held the band together. Lots of respect from all those kids he taught to quick march.
The Pipe Band was just one part of his amazing life and career. I'm so grateful to have known him. Shelley Esplin Meakin

My deepest condolences to the family. I worked for Scotty in Purchasing at the City of Brandon in the late 1980’s and Scotty was the driving influence in my developing career as a Supply Chain Management Professional. Scotty was a wonderful mentor and encouraged those who worked for him to be professional, ethical and thorough in all activities throughout the purchasing process. Scotty was always present in my mind throughout my career and his lessons have resonated with me all these years as guiding forces for me to live by. I will always be forever grateful to Scotty for guiding me into my lifelong career in Strategic Sourcing. Thank you Scotty. Rest well. Anne (Tetrault) Toth

It was such a pleasure working with Scotty. He was much more than a “boss” or supervisor. He was a friend as well as a mentor. Scotty was honest in his dealings with people and he would always stick up for the underdog. He was his own man and he was not afraid to speak up if something was unjust. He was a true gentleman and he will be sadly missed.
Sharon and family, may it comfort you to know that you are in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers.
Sincere condolences,
Greg and Carolyn Gill
