Obituary of Larrie Rae

RAE: Larrie William Rae passed away peacefully with family by his side at the Assiniboine Centre on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the age of 48 years.

Larrie was raised on a farm near Storthoaks and attended elementary school there and high school in Carnduff until he left home to follow his hockey dream. Larrie’s love of family, friends, sports, farming, animals, and small-town values were forged in those short years and lasted throughout his life. He was a talented sports enthusiast whether playing, coaching or reporting.

Larrie was an intelligent, responsible, hard-working man and spent years working in the oilpatch in Southeastern Saskatchewan. Many of Larrie’s closest friendships were initiated through his employment and numerous sports teams. Larrie was a loyal and dependable friend to so many and he valued and appreciated his many friends. 

Larrie was a loving and committed Dad to his four beautiful children and he believed fully in them. Larrie achieved much in his short life, but his greatest source of pride was undeniably his children and grandchildren. 

Larrie was predeceased by Great Grandparents, Great Aunts and Uncles, Grandparents Keith and Neta Rae, Auntie Karen Rae, infant brother and his beloved dog Caesar.

Larrie will be held in the hearts of his son Cole (Chelsea) and grandchildren Caius, Caige and Renley, daughters Taris, Darcie and Alix, his parents Don Rae, Mona (Doug) Hancock, sister Monica (Dave), brothers Lindsay, Steve, Jordan (Madison), Kodie and Karlie (Annie), Grandparents Wilfrid and Georgie Blerot, and by his nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends and his special SuperNova family.

A Celebration of Larrie’s Life will be held at Prairie Place, 706 Balmoral Ave, Arcola, SK on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Larrie may be made to any Minor Sports Organization of your choice.
