When I worked at Brandon General Hospital, Ron was our Executive Director for many years and he was also my preceptor for the Canadian Hospital Association Departmental Management Course. Ron set the bar high regarding integrity, fairness, and honesty. He personified the meaning of a class executive. He touched the lives of many and was an inspiration.

Elizabeth (Liz ) Sumner. My sincere condolences to the Sandra and Ron's family also his sisters Diane and Donna Myretta and their families. It was a shock to read the obituary in the Sun. We were classmates at Glanton School for 6 years and I have many happy memories of my classmates and teachers there. Also Fred and Lily Thomas & family were family friends . Sandy, Lisa, Jamie and Kevin, our deepest condolences on the passing of Ron. No one, other than my dad, was able to instill such fear in me as a teenager for even the hint of shenanigans. I was fortunate to know him in his capacity as a dad, and as a co worker briefly, but in either role he was great guy, and we were all the better for knowing him. Hugs to you all at this sad time.

Sad to hear of Ron’s passing. I have many fond memories with Ron primarily with our adventure and others (Brandon Minor Baseball) organizing and running three significant baseball events in Brandon (1999 Annual Canadian Selects; 1991 & 1994 IBA World Junior Championships). Included with these events was playing a major role in the initiation and construction of Westbran Stadium (Andrews Field). Ron was a significant leader with the “World Youth Baseball Committee” with the success of these events. This committee remained together for 10 years during this period! I will cherish my time spent working with Ron. Sincere sympathies to Sandi & family.

So sorry to hear of Ron's passing.
We got to know Ron and Sandi through baseball as Ron and I (Marg) sat on the committee for World Baseball which Brandon hosted. Ron was a tireless worker but also knew how to have a good time in "after hours". Committee members and their spouses spent many hours in contact before and during the Tournament. Lots of good times and memories .
