To the Empey family, I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of Sheldon. This has got to be so very hard. I remember Sheldon as an impish kid with beautiful hair and eyes where we first met at Vacation Bible School. He also was a volleyball player which is a nice warm sport to watch. My heartfelt condolences go out to Sheldon's family.
Throughout 2023, I spent most of my weekends with him in peachland or when he was passing through my hometown while he was out trucking. We met December 2022, and we rung in the new year together with fellow campers at the campground sharing jokes around the fire. Weekends were spent relaxing or exploring around, talking about and cherishing life's simple joys. His daily messages or jokes brightened my days. My fondest memory was taking him to a comedy show in Kelowna and just laughing away the evening. I last saw Sheldon in August, We were drinking and laughing with friends of his until the early hours of the morning. He was cracking jokes to everyone on the street that he passed by, he had so many people smiling and laughing and thats how I'll forever remember him by. Although I didn't know him long, he has and always will hold a special place in mine and so many others hearts.
